Finished Cosmos

I finished coloring my RubberNecker Cosmos stamp from my paper tutorial and thought you might like to see the end result. This is on Curious Cryogen paper. The flowers are RV23 Pure Pink and RV25 Dog Rose Flower. The stems are G24 Willow with Y38 Honey added for some accents. The flowers centers are Y38 Honey and YR14 Caramel. The blue background is B21 Baby Blue and the frame is YR14 Caramel. I used C2 Cool Gray to outline the stamp then cut it out. Added some ribbon and rhinestones and trimmed the top corners and it is done. I had a hard time deciding which way is up on this stamp and just decided to lay it down with the major bloom on the bottom.

Here is the same stamp on PaperTreyInk Select White paper. I found as I was coloring this, that I had to work harder to get the inks to blend. On the Cryogen I could cover all the petals with the light color, add the darker color and still blend it in. On the Select White, I had to do each petal separately as the ink dried too fast and was absorbed. Because Select White is a true white, the colors are truer, the off white of the Cryogen makes the colors have a little more golden hue. I ran out of the darker cardstock so I used a lighter shade. I took my RV25 Dog Rose Flower marker and with the chisel tip end, colored the white ribbon to match. I also colored the rhinestones with the same marker and my airbrush. I chose not to cut the corners off on this card as the paler pink cardstock is not so overpowering. I hope you found this informative and will come back soon.

Very pretty Sandy. I ordered from RubberNecker after seeing your flowers. Yes, I told them you sent me.

Hi Sandy,
I followed your link to your site and wanted to answer the "paper" question for you. The simply smooth cardstock is under the Prism section. I just looked and they are temporarily out of stock...this cardstock is pretty popular and should be back in the store soon....thanks for asking! BTW, you have beautiful art on your blog. Love the coloring you do with the flowers in this card in particular...glad I stopped by!
