Cheery Lynn Designs goes Steampunk

Cheery Lynn Designs has stepped into the Steampunk World with this month's new release and I made a couple of cards and a tag using them which I will be sharing over the next few days.  For this first card, I began with this fabulous new Clock.  It comes with an angel wing but I did not need it for my card.  I used a brown metallic paper so it has a wonderful sparkle.  Next came the great assortment of Gears (set of 9), again using brown metallic as well as copper metallic paper.  I cut the new Hot Air Balloon w/Angel Wing out of card stock, using Distress ink to age it a bit.  This is also a set of 2 so you get another balloon plus angel wing.  I love the detailing on the basket.  The DP is from Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante collection; the digi image is Steampunk Lillith from the Lil Lads and Lolitas collection from CC Designs.  Finished size is 6" square.

Vintage Christmas

The challenge this week at Cheery Lynn Designs is Vintage.  I chose to make a vintage Christmas card using the beautiful  Celtic Chain Rectangle Reflections dies.  One of the dies fits perfectly on a 5x7 card.  I added Vintage Photo Distress ink for a more vintage feel.  I used my  Zig-Zag Ric Rac die for the border pieces.

To create the flower I used the new Rose Leaf Strip, look at all the beautiful detail on the petals!  I added some center stamens from the Embellishment #2 die set.  The final step was to add the lovely pine from the new Wreath Strip die.  The DP is from the Graphic 45 Nutcracker Sweet 8x8 paper pad.  Finished size is 5 x 7 inches.

Skating Pond

Did you have a skating pond when you were a kid?  I went skating on Barnegat Bay in New Jersey one winter as a child.  It was pretty scary as the ice kept making all sorts of loud noises.  It has to be pretty cold to freeze salt water.  This is the second week of the Winter theme challenge at Craft a Scene and I have created a scene around this fabulous digi image from Tickled Pink Stamps.  I printed Ice Skater Sookie onto Cryogen paper, then printed a mask onto Eclipse tape and cut it out.  Then I began my scene.  I started with the mountains from Sutter, then added the banks from Stampscapes.  I created the little bushes on the banks by using just the tops of Maple Trio and  Maple Pair.  I colored the scene with my Copic markers then airbrushed the sky and edges to deepen the color.  The last step was the framing elements top and bottom as well as the gulls all from Stampscapes.  Finished size is 5 x 7 inches.  Be sure to visit the Craft a Scene challenge blog for more inspiration and to join in on the fun.

Tickled Pink Anything Goes Challenge

The challenge this week over at Tickled Pink Stamps is Anything Goes.  I got this wonderful new 6x6 paper pad called Festive Treats from First Edition.  So I came up with this card.  I printed Lil Christmas Lolita Willow onto Cryogen paper, I only used the upper portion of the digital image.  Copics used:

I created the flower with Cheery Lynn Designs Cheery Blossom and Leaf dies.  The pine branch is from Martha Stewart.  I added some gold accents with my Viva Decor Pearl pen.  Finished size is 6" square.

Tickled Pink Winter challenge

 

I made this card for the Winter Challenge over at Tickled Pink challenge blog.  I combined two great digi images, Lil Christmas Luca and Victorian Christmas Ivy.  I printed them onto Cryogen paper with my inkjet printer and then colored them with Copics.  I had this great paper from Me & My Big Ideas that felt very vintage to me.  So I went for subtle, muted tones when coloring.  I added a flower created with Cheery Lynn Designs Judy's Blooms and a Fanciful Flourish.  I added Sparkly Fluff to Luca's hat and Ivy's muff and coat.  This is a 5 x 7 easel card. 

Holiday Gift

I got this new 6x6 pad of paper called 25 Days of Christmas by Simple Stories; what wonderful vintage papers.  So following a sketch from Challenge Up Your Life, I created this card.  I used my Cheery Lynn Designs Scallop Circle Stackers and matching Silver Circle Stackers to die cut the round panel.  I added the newly released Anastasia Border below the holly paper, I think it is the most elegant border..  I added some faux stitching and Viva Decor Pearl Pen accents.  The digi image is from Tickled Pink.  Finished size is 6" square.

Tickled Pink Challenge 37 - Rip Something

For those of you who know me, you know that when I read the challenge theme over at Tickled Pink Stamps challenge blog - Rip Something - I cringed.  I am very anal and ripping paper is something very difficult for me to do.  But they also said you could interpret it as R.I.P.  Yeah, I love Halloween, so here is what I came up with..........

Isn't she just the cutest Mummy?  This is Tickled Pink Lil Haunts Mummie Christina, I have the digi image but you can also purchase her as a red rubber stamp.  I printed her onto Cryogen white paper with my inkjet printer.  There is not a lot of coloring on her, Eye - B12, Hair - E25, Glasses - V25, Skin - E00, Wrap - W1 and Shadow - BV000.  I did not have a tombstone so I drew this one using Corel Draw.  Not too bad, I shaded it with W1 and BV000.  For the moon, I used a Cheery Lynn Designs texture plate adding some shading with BV0000 and BV000.  The fence, cat and bats as well as the embossing plate for the background are also from Cheery Lynn Designs.  Finished size is 6" square.  

Tickled Pink Chipboard Challenge

The challenge over at Tickled Pink Stamps is to use chipboard.  I chose to use this fabulous digi image Lil Haunts Vampire Lestat. 

For the background I used several digis from Make It Crafty, Halloween Haunted House and  Old Oak Tree combining them in Photoshop Elements and adding a gradient background before printing it out.  I used my Copics to color the background as well as Lestat.  I used my Scallop Circle and Silver Circle Stacker dies from Cheery Lynn Designs to cut out the background, then created a step card for my base.  I added a Cheery Lynn Designs Victorian Picket Fence and Grass Border to the center step.  The sentiment is a chipboard embellishment from my stash.  The great DP is from the Graphic 45 Wizard of Oz paper pad.  The finished size is 6" square.

Holiday Step Card with Cheery Lynn Designs and Core'dinations

All week long the Cheery Lynn Design team is creating with Core'dinations paper, and over at the Core'dinations blog, they are using Cheery Lynn Designs dies.  What fun we are having!

Using an assortment of Core'dinations Whitewash Cardstock, I created a step card.  There are 3 steps, on the first and second I began with a snowbank created with an aquaWhitewash cardstock, which I embossed with my Cheery Lynn Designs Dotted Swiss XL embossing plate, then sanded so the aqua core of the paper shows through.  Again on the first step, I added a Cheery Lynn Designs Victorian Picket Fence, decorated with two Christmas Lights Swags and the bow from the new Ornamental Wreath and Bow die.  I added Viva Decor Glass Effect Gel to the Christmas lights to make them shiny.  The figures on the second step are Lil Christmas Lolita Willow and Lil Lad Christmas Luca from Tickled Pink Stamps.  You can see the embossed dots on the snow banks on this step.

For the 3rd step, I started with a piece of gray Whitewash Cardstock that I embossed with my Big Weaver Plate, sanding it to get the look of siding.  I then added a Screen Door die cut using a blue Whitewash, reversing the bottom panel drop outs and putting them back in.  Then I cut a square to fit the top part of the door.  I added an Ornamental Wreath and Bow adding a few berries with my Viva Decor Pearl pen.  A silver gem for a door knob was the final touch. 

Next I added some more snow banks using my Swiss Dots embossed aqua Whitewash cardstock on both sides of the door.  Then I added my Elegant Evergreen die, popping up the layers for dimension.  I added some red gems and a gold star as accents.   All of the sanding on the cardstock was done using the Core'dinations Sand It Gadget.  Finished size is 5 x 7 inches.

Tickled Pink Flower challenge

The challenge this week over at Tickled Pink Stamps is Flowers.  I used my Cheery Lynn Designs Classic French Flair XL Stackers Nesting dies and the coordinating Silver French Flair XL Stackers to create the base of this easel card.

The great thing about the Stackers is the size of the largest die.  This card is 5 5/8" square when closed, a perfect size for a 6" envelope.  The wonderful paper is from the Basic Grey Sweet Threads 6x6 paper pack.  Using Adobe Photoshop Elements, I merged these two fabulous digi images from Tickled Pink Stamps, Eric and Willow, then printed them onto Cryogen paper.  Copics used:

Using my Cheery Lynn Designs Heart to Heart Doily dies, I created the heart behind the kids. I die cut 2 Sunflowers and 2 of the largest Darling Daisies to create the big flower on the front of the card, adding a Fanciful Flourish behind it.  The smaller flower on the base of the card was made using 2 each of all three Darling Daisies.  I was trying to mimic the mums on the background paper.  I added a bit of the Fanciful Flourish there as well.  I added Border Carnivale to the base with some pearl accents and then the final step was the saying from Hero Arts, stamped onto layered French Flair Little Stackers die cuts.

Tickled Pink Flower Power

When I was a kid, I was just in awe of my next door neighbor, Joy, she was a Flower Child and I just idolized her long hair and beads and free spirit.  This digi image from Tickled Pink Stamps takes me back to those simple days. 

I only used the top portion of Lolita as I am following the sketch from the Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge blog.  I printed her onto Cryogen paper with my inkjet printer.  Copics used:

I added Glossy Accents to the lenses in the glasses for a more realistic look.  This great paper is from the Fancy Pants 6x6 "It's the little things" paper collection.  I used my Cheery Lynn Designs Dutch Tulip Doily and my Cheery Lynn Designs Border Carnivale for design elements of the sketch.  And of course every Flower Child needs a flower, leaves and a butterfly, also Cheery Lynn Designs dies.  I added a few dot accents around the image with my Copic Multiliner and some Viva Decor Pearl Pen accents.  Finished size is 5 x 7 inches.
