Brayered Winter Solitude

Well, I brayered Fall and I brayered tropical, so now I had to try a Winter scene. I wanted to see if I could create a frosty feel and the stillness of a Winter night.

Once again, I used Xerox Heavyweight Matte Cover and Adirondack inks. The base color is Lights Ocean Aqua, the center color is Earthones Stream and the darkest color is Earthtones Eggplant. The buck and the large tree were stamped with Versacolor black and clear embossed. Everything else was stamped with Earthones Stream. I stamped off once on the small trees before stamping on the paper so they would appear to be further in the distance.

The birds, the texture on the moon and the pine branch are Stampscapes, everything else is Sutter stamps. I used a white gel pen on the snow around the buck and for the falling snowflakes in the sky.

Wow, that turned out cool. I love that scene, it is SO serene. All I love about winter. That deer stamp is pretty special too! Amy P.

It is so beautiful Sandy and very wintery, you can almost see santa in his sleigh over in that other village there lol.
Great work again Sandy :0)
Hasn't Amy got a blog? I would love to see more of her creativeness too :0)

Sandy, this is stunning. I showed my husband your blog with all these beautiful cards with brayered backgrounds and last night he looked at some new silhouette stamps I got and said "That would be really neat with one of those brayered backgrounds." So, looks like I might have to give it a shot one of these days! Thanks for sharing all the instructions and colors you used - that's really helpful.

I had to look at your new posts all up close and study them to see the AMAZING detail. Unbelievable. You make me want to dust off my brayer... but I know I could not measure up. So I'll stick to the Airbrushing you influenced me to buy and save the brayer for another day. Sandy these are just WOW! WOW! WOW! The winter scene is my fav, with the full sheet Halloween coming in a close second! WOW!

Sandy, I am a friend of Jenny's and I must say, this card is just about the most beautiful brayered card I've ever seen! The blues flow together so evenly. Miriam
