Big Ideas Christmas cards

My friend Amy and I got together today and used a scrapbook kit we each purchased by Me & My Big Ideas to make some Christmas cards. Basically we just used the patterned paper and added embellishments, some stamping.

This first card is from a beautiful sheet of paper, I did not want to cut through the holly so I made the card 5 x 7 inches. I used a red marker and glossy accents on the berries. This is a very quick but elegant card.

The second card uses a piece of the same patterned paper. I cut out the words "merriest wishes...joyful dreams", layered them and then put them back in the same spot. What you can't see on both of the scans is the glitter glue added to the holly down the left side of each card. It is very shimmery and pretty in real life.

For the third card, I used three different patterned papers and a Noel stamp from Repeat Impressions.

I made the poinsettia using my birch stamp from Serendipity and the matching punch from McGill.

The branches are made with a Martha Stewart punch. Amy did a similar card but added a beautiful cardinal at the top of hers.

And for the last card I used one of the embellishments that comes with the paper. I am not real happy with this card. (The scan does not display the reds very well, they do all match.) I think it is too busy for me, the background paper is very busy and adding all the different pieces of the card just made it worse. But I was trying to use the branch on something, lol.

There is one more patterned paper in the kit, it is a red and green plaid. I love plaids so I will see what I can come up with using it. Hope you enjoyed my cards and thanks for stopping by.
