Dolphin Play

Since I began teaching Stampscapes scenic stamping locally here in Mid-Michigan, once again using dye inks rather than my beloved Copic markers, I thought I would share a scene with you that I stamped on glossy paper and colored with dye inks before I knew what Copics were.

I began by stamping the kelp and the sea wall from Coronado Island Designs with Marvy Matchables black ink on glossy paper from The Paper Cut. The next step was to stamp the dolphins also from Coronado Island. Then I created a horizon line using the Palm Island stamp from Stampscapes on both sides of my scene.

I used Tombow markers to color the dolphins and the kelp. I then masked a straight line between the islands and added color to the water with a Colorbox stylus. I stamped Cloud Space from Stampscapes in the sky with a blue ink before again adding color with my stylus.

To finish I stamped the palm fronds from Stampscapes in the upper right hand corner, I first stamped them with Marvy Matchables black ink and then again with Adirondack Pesto. The rowboat and the gulls are both from Stampscapes.

I am sorry I have not been posting much lately, I have classes and design team commitments but soon things will quiet down and I will have more time to create. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy viewing some of my older art.

Sandy, this is great - of course, I'm partial to the dolphins...:-) It also wins the Tim Kirkpatrick Seal of Approval ;-) Great job!

I too like dolphins and your card portrays them beautifully. There is something peaceful about dolphins.
