More Parchment cards

I taught Parchment class last night, it was a very small class of only 3 so we got to play a little more than normal. I showed them how to use a 2-split (or 4-split) needle to cut out your design.

On each of these samples, I stamped with Memories White ink on 36# vellum, dry embossing from the back. But on the butterfly, I pierced all the way around the outer edge with a 4-split needle. Click on the picture and it will take you to a large view where you can see the lovely lacy edging from the piercing. I also debossed the edges of his body to get the wings to stand up, pretty cool, huh?

I used the same technique on the poinsettias in the lower right, stamped the frame, embossed from the back. Stamped the poinsettias separately, cutting them out with the 4-split needle. I may have to do something like this for my Christmas card this year. A friend said she thought a family picture would look lovely in the oval area, I agree! I think 2 basset hounds smiling would look wonderful there, lol.

The Dresden Rose circle in the upper right was pierced out but the lower one was not. However, the lower one has embossed dots added in the center portion (different from the last time you saw this card). All stamps are from Sweet Impressions stamps. I will be demoing at their booth this weekend at the Heirloom Pro Stamp Show in Novi, MI. Stop by and say hi.
