I taught one more Stampscapes ornament class at Stamp Image Studio. Sadly they have had to close their doors and on Saturday she had an Open House, a last blowout sale. I taught this class before the doors opened for the sale.
Once again, I want to thank Ken Pesho for the inspiration for these ornaments. The first one uses Country Stream Large from Nature Sheet 1 which I stamped with Marvy Matchables #3 Blue. The sky, stamped with the same ink, is 118E Star Cluster. Then using Adirondack Earthtones Denim and a Color Box Stylus, I added color around the edges and a little into the scene. The last step was to stamp 068D Reeds Large, again with Marvy Blue, to give the scene some dimension and finish off with a silver metallic pen for a nice edge.
For the next card, I began with 147F Lakeside Cabin stamped with Marvy Black ink. Then I added 197E Cloud with Rising Moon with Marvy Blue. I set this stamp on the far left edge of the ornament the first time which left a blank area on the right. So I had to ink it up again, flip it over and add the clouds on the right edge to finish the sky. I also inked up the portion above the moon, flipped it over and stamped on the stem of the ornament. You can bring the stamp right down to the top of the cabin, it will not hurt to stamp over the trees. Then as with the previous ornament, I added Adirondack Earthtones Denim around the edges and wherever I wanted to create shadows with my Colorbox Stylus and 068D Reeds Large at the bottom. The ornament background is a new 5x7 Cuttlebug embossing folder.
And for the third card, I started with 063G Old Mill Large stamped with Marvy black ink. This was followed up with 058E Milky Way stamped with Marvy Blue. And once again, color was added around the edges with the Color Box Stylus and Adirondack Earthtones Denim. I felt it needed a little something else, so I added some pine branches using a Martha Stewart punch.
The fourth card we did was the Bell ornament from this previous post. A couple of my students had trouble when they sealed their ornaments. I recommend spraying your ornaments/scenes with an acrylic glossy spray to stop the ink from fading. I use Krylon Acrylic Crystal Clear Gloss Clear or True Value PDS-7 Acrylic Glossy spray. These two students both used Krylon Acrylic Glossy Low Odor and had trouble with their ink running. So I don't recommend that particular brand of spray. I have never had any problems with anything I have sprayed over the years.

These are SO beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous. I love the blue and white colour scheme.
Like the idea of the greens around the top. Will try that on some of mine. Thanks for the idea. Edna B.
Beautiful cards !!!!
All your ornament cards are lovely and spectacular! I should have made some myself, but I didn't, so I am happy to return to your website and look and look again and again. Thank you for your Christmas gift to ME!
Stunning cards, Sandy! Each one prettier than the last! Nice job!
Love all 3 of them, Sandy. Particularly the Swiss Dot one with the branches. Very elegant looking. Looking forward to seeing you Sat. in Livonia.
So beautifully done, Sandy. I must try some of these -- I know they won't be as outstanding as yours -- but you have offered up wonderful inspiration!

Just love these, beautiful! Amy P.
These ornament cards are VERY nice!
I think I saw a a table using this technique @ my local rubber stamp show, however, the scenes weren't "finish" as you have done with your cards...adds so much more!
Also, like the scene you created for Mo's squirrel "Special Delivery"...very cute!
Were your ears burning yesterday? Miriam and I were talking about you ornament scenes and how cool they were!
OMG!! these cards are beautiful!!
I really like the ornament cards that you have made. They are so pretty.
I just found your blog and I am so excited I can hardly sit still! I love the ornament cards and am wondering where you got or how you made the ornament templates.

I am loving your Christmas trees (last post) - and happy that I could take inspiration from this card and make a go of it I think. Your snow scenes in baubles are brilliant! Warmest wishes, Lesley
