Oval Poppies

I had a wonderful day today, it was class day with my monthly stamping ladies (Hi, Girls) and on top of that we had a pot luck and PRESENTS.  It was so much fun, great food and wonderful gifts.  And then we had class. For this first card, I used my Cheery Lynn Designs XL Scalloped Oval Stackers nesting dies.  Using the next to the largest die, I die cut the base of the card in the shape of an oval.  The trick is to leave just a bit of the edge of the folded card inside the die so it does not cut through.  See on the left edge there is a straight spot, missing the scallops?  This is the card fold so the back is the same shape.

Then we stamped this great Poppy image from Yvonne Albritton onto Cryogen paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink.  Copics used:
Poppies - YR00, YR01, YR02, E08
Leaves - YG93
Shadow - W3
I also die cut a scalloped oval from Cryogen paper for the inside to add a sentiment and to sign the card.  The great DP is from the Claire collection by SEI.  Finished size is 4.75 x 6.5 inches.

Very pretty card and one that can be used for almost anything. Us gals had fun today too. Wasn't the food delicious? And the gifts a plus. Edna
