Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 27 - Shades of Purple
The challenge this week at Cheery Lynn Designs challenge blog is Shades of Purple. For my card I used this beautiful new stamp from Sweet Stamps called Iris. I paired it with a new First Edition 6x6 paper pad called Dreamcatcher. It is all luscious shades of purple. I used my Japanese Garden Lace Oval for the frame around the image. The center of this frame drops out, so I laid the frame over my stamped image and traced the oval. I hand cut it out, carefully trimming around the parts of the flower that hang out. I mounted the drop out oval on the back of my hand cut oval and then put the frame back together.
Using my Japanese Lace and Flourish Frame I cut a long edge and used it as a border piece on the vertical paper panel on the left. It has a similar design as the oval frame and I thought it looked nice. Using my Judy's Blooms I tried to make an iris bloom. I added leaves from the Tropical Leaves set and a stem from my Darling Daisies die. The last step was the corner embellishments from my Lace Corner Deco B set. Finished size is 6" square.
