Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 31 - Make It Manly

The challenge this week at Cheery Lynn Designs challenge blog is Make It Manly.  Guy cards can be difficult but I find that less is sometimes best.  For my card I used 2 die sets.  For all the navy panels, I used my
Mini Pearl Square Reflections dies.  I thought the tiny scalloped edges and stitching accent were small enough to be manly and yet still dress up the card.  The adorable image is Mr. Fix It Grandpa from Karen's Doodles.

The other die I used is from the Lace Corner Deco J set.  For the top sentiment on the inside of the card as well as the embellishments on the gift card holder, I trimmed the outer points off the corner die.   Again manly and yet classy!

To create the gift card holder in the center of the card, I adjusted this tutorial to fit a square card.   The gift card lays flat when the card is closed but raises up as you see above when you open the card.  All the DP is  from SEI.  The image and sentiment were printed onto Curious Poison Ivory card stock to most closely match the DP tones.  Finished size is 5.5 inches.

Be sure to visit the Cheery Lynn Designs challenge blog for more inspiration as well as a fantastic giveaway taking place this month.  I have entered my card into the Cutcardstock Masculine Card Challenge.

Great card! It really does look like it's for a man. Like the dies you used and the paper is so cute. Fit's it just right. Also like the way you fixed the gift card holder. Edna
