Give Thanks

The challenge this week at Cheery Lynn Designs is Black and Orange.  I was going to make a traditional Halloween card but just purchased this beautiful Memory Box Nightfall 6x6 paper pack and my plans changed.  The digi image from Meljen's Designs is called Harvest Bounty.  I printed it onto Cryogen paper with my laser printer and used Copics to color it.  I followed a great sketch over at 2 Sisters to create the card.  I used my Card Maker Rectangle Scalloped dies to make the panels on my card.   This is a great die set for those who are 'layer challenged'.  To create the panel patterned paper image behind the image on the right and the black scalloped panel behind the image itself, I custom made my sizes.

For the patterned panel piece on the right, I needed a fatter but not as long panel.  So using the largest die in the set, I die cut a piece of black card stock, then placed it back in the die, carefully lining up the scallops and cut it to size.  I did the same thing with the black scalloped panel behind the image.  I finished the card by adding a Lace Corner Deco I and then computer generated the saying which I cut out with my Sentiment Frame #1.  Finished size is 5 x 7 inches.

Be sure to visit the Cheery Lynn Designs challenge blog for more inspiration and to join in on this week's Black and Orange challenge for a chance to win $20 to the store.
