In keeping with the Cheery Lynn Designs challenge of Think Spring, I have created a floral card for today. All of the flowers were created with just two dies; Daisy Strip and for the puffed up centers of the orange flowers, I used Darling Daisies. I just love the fact that you can cut 6 flowers at a time with one pass of your die cut machine. For these flowers, I used text weight metallic paper so I was able to double the paper and get twice as many flowers out of one die cut. In case you have not seen the die, this is what it looks like
For the purple flowers, I scored down the center of the petals. For the red flowers, I dry embossed on the front side of the petals, curving them up; then I pinched the ends together. And for the orange flowers, I dry embossed on the back side of the petals curving them down then pulled the smallest two up to make the center buds.
I used an assortment of dies to make all the greenery (listed below). I added my Anastasia Border along the bottom and the matching Kiwi Spirit doily as a center backdrop. The hummingbird is from the new Tiny Things with Wings die set. I hand printed the sentiment. Finished size is 6" square.
