Snowman Bed Spring

I took a class this weekend at The Green Door Studio taught by owner, Linda Neff.  We made this adorable Snowman from a styrofoam ball, plaster gauze and a bed spring.  Isn't he just the cutest thing!  Although I am not real big on hand sewing,  I think I did a pretty good job on his hat and his mittens.  Linda shows you how to make them from a piece of black felt.

He has a wonderful sparkle from the micro-fine glitter that we sprinkled all over his head.  See his chubby little cheeks and that wonderful nose; all shaped out of the gauze.  I suggested he needed some jingle bells which Linda was happy to supply to us.  I added one to his hat brim and one to his banner.  I have another which I will add to his scarf (forgot, oops!)

He stands about 10 inches tall and is about 5 1/2 inches wide.  Linda has another class coming up in January if you are interested.  It was a very fun day.

Cute - now that is a great way of really using scraps besides what is in our scrap book room. Maybe my husband has something like that in his scrap pile outside (just kidding) Very cute snow man.
