Heartfelt Creations Under the Sea Mini Book

Today I want to share with you my Heartfelt Creations Under the Sea Mini Album.  I just love how easily this came together.  Using black card stock create a 6 1/4"  x 6 1/4" album, using the stacked hinge binding method.  Create 4 pages, 6" x 11 3/4" scoring at 6" and folding them inwards.  Add a piece of black card stock 6" x 6" on the left panel of each page to create a center pocket for adding tags and storing photos.  Decorate each page with panels from the Under the Sea Paper Collection.

Here is a short video showing you all the details, scroll down my blog for more details on products used.

 Cover
Using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, stamp the flowers (4 times), leaves (3 times) and shells once from the Tropical Hibiscus Stamp set onto Cryogen metallic paper.  Die cut them out with the coordinating Tropical Hibiscus die set.  Add color to the flowers with Worn Lipstick and Festive Berries Distress Ink.  Using the Deluxe Flower Shapin Kit, shape the flowers.  Trim off one of the stamens and then stack 2 of the medium and 2 of the small flowers.  Save the large flowers for another project.  Add yellow glitter to the stamens and flower centers.  Add color to the leaves with Evergreen Bough Distress ink, shape and then add them and the flowers to the front of the book.  Using Copic markers: R32, E11, E04 add color to the sea shells them mount them with dimensional foam on a scene for under the bubble globe.  Add seed beads as sand inside the globe.

Page 1
The panel on the right page opens up for adding a photo; the sea shell which was fussy cut from the paper collection is used as a closure.  The left panel has journaling space on the front and space for a photo on the back.  I created a bit of dimension on the center panel by cutting out the center square, adding chipboard to the back as well as black card stock and then mounting it back on the panel.
I added a little sentiment tag to the center panel.  You can see the tab above the center panel that pulls out an additional journaling tag with space for a photo.  I used a gray Copic Multiliner to add all the journaling lines.

Page 1 flap
This is the back side of the right page from the photo above.  If I opened each page up all the way it would be 4 panels wide and you would not see all the detail.  On this page I used a border from the Border Essentials Die set to create a belly band to hold my journaling/photo tag.  I added a small shell die cut to make sure the panel does not slip out.

 Page 2
The panel on the right also opens to add a photo with plenty of journaling space on the front.  I fussy cut the beautiful fish from the paper collection for my center panel but you can purchase the Under the Sea Stamp set and coordinating Under the Sea Die set to create your own beautiful fish.  I only had the Creative Essentials kit (paper and Tropical Hibiscus stamp and die set) at the time I made this album.  The left panel flips open for a photo and has a tag tucked in behind for journaling and a smaller photo.

Page 2 flap
For this page, I die cut two corners from the Ornate Borders and Pockets die set to create pockets for my journaling/photo tag.  I added a sentiment panel as well.

Page 3
Using the smallest corner from the Fleur Borders and Pockets die set and black card stock, I created a small pocket to tuck in another journaling/photo tag.  I fussy cut the jelly fish for my center panel (but this is also one of the dies and stamps in the Under the Sea set)  I added lots of Crystal Ice Stickles to the jelly fish for some bling.  Across the top of this page I added a border from the Border Essentials Die set.  The left panel is another journaling flip page with room for a photo, again using a sea shell as a closure.  I added Glossy Accents to the port hole so it looks like glass.

Page 3 flap
Here is another journaling/photo tag that opens to the left.  I used one of the small elements from the paper pad to create the closure.

Page 4
Using another piece of border, I created a pocket for photo storage, adding a journaling/photo tag.  I fussy cut the fish but again you can do the same with the Under the Sea die/stamp set.  I created a bit of dimension on the center panel by cutting out the center square, adding chipboard to the back as well as black card stock and then mounting it back on the panel.  On the left we have another flip page, this time using a small square embellishment from the paper pack as a closure.

Page 4 flap
Here is another journaling/photo tag that opens to the left.  Again, I used one of the small elements from the paper pad to create the closure.
Inside back cover
More pockets for journaling/photo tags and additional photos.  On the right panel, I used a die from the Fleur Borders and Pockets set to create the corner pocket; adding a die cut from the Ornate Borders and Pockets to hold the tag in on the top.

Back
A wonderful scene for the back of my album.

Spine
For my ribbon embellishment, I added an acrylic fragment backed with a small under water scene, a bottle with seed beads and some great sea shell beads.
