Stampbord Lakeside Cabin

Ampersand makes a wonderful product called Stampbord. It is a hunk of board with clay adhered to it. You stamp on it, then scrape off bits of clay revealing the white underneath as accents. This card uses a 3.5 x 5 inch oval stampbord. I stamped with Marvy Matchables Black ink, masking the tree to add the cabin and rocks. I also masked the rocks when I was adding the branches as well as the ink for the water. Using Adirondack Lights Aqua and Earthtones Stream with a Colorbox Stylus I colored in the water. The sky is Adirondack Lights Cool Peri and Earthtones Denim with some Stream added in as well. The Adirondack Lights are very pale and create a base color for your other colors to blend on to. The cabin and the rocks in the foreground were colored with Tombow marker 912 Pale Cherry. I added some 098 Avocado to the rocks for shading. The tree trunk was colored using 977 Saddle Brown. And lastly I added 992 Sand to the rocks and shrubs on the island. The next step is to scratch the ink back off creating highlights. Since I do not have a moon in the sky, I hoped to give the impression that it is to the right side of the scene by highlighting everything on the right side. As the final step, I used a glossy clear acrylic spray to seal the stampbord The peel off stickers helped to fill up the extra space on the 5 x 7 card.
