Too cute for words

This little guy is not what I had in mind when I started this card, but the stamp I had planned on using was too large. This baby owl from Repeat Impressions is just right. I started by adhering the colored 1 3/8 inch squares to a 4 1/2 inch square black background. Then I stamped the pine bough, also from Repeat Impressions, using Memento Tuxedo Black onto the finished mosaic. This I mounted onto 4 3/4 inch square brown cardstock, which I then mounted onto a 4 7/8 inch square card. I used my Spellbinders Nestabilities to cut and emboss the squares for the owl image. He is stamped on Beckett Expressions Radiance white cardstock, but I used Copic E50 Egg Shell to change it to a color that co-ordinated with the card. I layered the color more around the edges than I did close to the owl. I did not use the airbrush, just marker work. He is colored with E57 Light Walnut for the darker areas, his face and belly are E000 Pale Fruit Pink shaded with E50 Egg Shell. His eyes and beak are YR23 Yellow Ochre. The last step was to add the shading below him so he is grounded, using W3 Warm Gray. Oh, and can't forget the bling, 3 rhinestones colored to match with E57 Light Walnut. Also, I want to thank Pat from my Tuesday night stamping club for this layout. The best thing about this card is it can be made from all those little scraps of paper you have laying around.
