Hula Tryouts
When I was at the stamp show in Novi, MI this past weekend, I purchased some of the Hula Bunnies from Stamp La Jolla I just love these guys and wanted to fit them into a scene. So here they are at Hula tryouts. I stamped the bunnies first onto Curious Cryogen white paper with Memento Tuxedo black ink. After masking them, I stamped the cove behind them, then the islands and huts in the distance. The sand pattern came next. I used 3 blues in the sky, B21 Baby Blue, B41 Powder Blue and B32 Pale blue, then added R81 Rose Pink, all applied with my airbrush. The water BG01 Aqua Blue and the sand E40 Brick White and E21 Baby Skin Pink were also colored with my airbrush. The huts in the distance are YR21 Cream, YR23 Yellow Ochre and YR24 Pale Sepia. I added E51 Milky White to the sandy areas on the islands and between the sand and the surf. I also added a little G24 Willow to the brush on the islands. The rocks in the distance as well as the ones in the water are E70 Ash Rose. That left the bunnies, their hula skirts are YG23 New Leaf, shaded with YG67 Moss. The tan bunnies are E30 Bisque, shaded with E31 Brick Beige. The lone gray bunny is C1 Cool Gray. Their noses and inner ears are RV000 Pale Purple shaded with R81 Rose Pink. I used a Green Copic Multiliner for their sunglasses, and colored the lens W5 Warm Gray. Last step was to add the palm fronds around the edges, the lone boater and the birds. I hope you get a chuckle out of my hula bunnies.
