Happy Halloween

I received some wonderful stamps from Wendy at Repeat Impressions and the challenge was to make a Halloween card. This little trick or treater has wandered into a graveyard and has the ghosts perplexed!

All stamps are from Repeat Impressions. I stamped this on Curious Cryogen White with Memento Tuxedo black ink. I started with the tree which I then masked. I added the foreground tombstone, which I again masked, then the tombstone behind it, also masking. Next came my trick-or-treater, I paper pieced his ghost outfit, using a black Spica pen on the eyes. Then I added all my peeping ghosts which I also masked so I could airbrush the sky and the grass. I got clever and used the top of a Winter Tree stamp for the prickly branches around the edges and then stamped the bats.

There is not much coloring to this scene, the tree is E44 Clay, I used a black Spica on the eyes and mouth. I added B000 Pale Porcelain blue on the edges of the ghosts which I then "feathered out" with my blender pen. For the tombstones, I took a rag and stippled W5 Warm gray then blended it out with the blender pen. I was trying for an aged look. The only other color was the airbrushing, I started with G82 Spring Dim Green for the grass and B45 Smokey blue for the sky. I deepened the sky with B26 Cobalt blue, B37 Antwerp blue and lastly black. I took a white gel pen and added some dots on the tips of the prickly branches around the outer edge. And that was about it. I hope it put a smile on your face.

Repeat Impressions stamps used:
2319-I Haunted Tree
2317-D Tombstone
2307-E Trick or Treat Ghost
2308-E Bats
1139-F Halloween
1609-J Winter Tree

Your ghosts are so cute and scary. Again, I like the patterned paper for the one ghost. It really adds a nice element. Great card.
