Stampscape class samples

I taught a beginners Stampscapes class to some wonderful women this week and had a great time.

These were all done on glossy card stock, stamped with Marvy Matchables black ink and colored with Adirondack dye inks. This is the first time in quite a while that I have gone back to dye inks and a Colorbox Stylus tool.

Edna was very specific about what images she wanted me to use, haha, more fun if you can choose what you want to make.

This first is the Lakeside cove image and I think the fabulous Moon rising stamp sets it off perfectly. The rocks were colored with Tombow markers as well as dye inks.

The second image she wanted me to use was the Old mill on the right. I used the meadow stamp to fill out the left side of the scene and then using Memento London Fog stamped some pines in the distance.

For the water, I used a very light aqua Tombow marker. The clouds in the sky were stamped with Adirondack Denim.

I love the pine branch I used to frame the scene, it can be found on unmounted Nature Sheet #1.

The next request was to use the Church in a scene. I love this stamp, it does not require much color as it is so perfectly shaded.

I used the path stamp leading up to the door then filled in the right side with sedge filler. Tree Cluster filts perfectly to the left of the church. For some reason my scan looks like the church door is pink but it really is red!

For the final scene, we used the Water Mill, another favorite image of mine. Using right and left Waterside Bluff we created the stream. The trees around the mill were added using Oak Row.

The mill and the water were again colored with Tombow markers.

For the sky, I showed them how to use a torn paper towel to create the clouds in the sky.

My students were amazed by how little masking is involved creating these scenes. And when we did mask, we simply used a torn paper towel. These are very forgiving stamps, mistakes can be easily fixed. Everyone did a fabulous job and created wonderful scenes. They have invited me back so I guess I did ok.

Where did you teach the class at? I know Stacey was closed this weekend. Think she would let you teach one soon? I love the one with the moon-seems some times the moon is that big on a clear cold night.
