Eagles Majesty

In class today with Edna, Elaine, Cheryl and Becky (Hi, ladies, they are so talented!) we stamped out this scene. My original from last winter was done on Cryogen paper and airbrushed with my Copic markers. But what we did today was stamped on glossy paper from The Paper Cut and then colored with a Colorbox Stylus.

All of the landscape stamps are from Stampscapes. The mountain was created by repeatedly stamping Boulders with Lichen 205F with Marvy black ink. We used a paper towel mask as we added each additional layer beginning at the bottom and building upward. For the very top, we turned the stamp on its side. Next we stamped the eagle from Gray Wolf rubber stamps masking it off with Eclipse tape. The sky came next, Cloud Cumulus 018E was stamped across the sky with Adirondack Stonewashed. A tip for this stamp, before stamping it out, wipe some of the ink off the edges to avoid a harsh square border.

Next came color, for the mountain, we applied Adirondack dye inks.... Mushroom, followed by Ginger, and then Lettuce added on top of everything. My favorite combination for rocks and mountains. Then we lightly added some Stonewashed to the sky to create more depth. After removing the mask from the eagle, we added some brown to the feathers and orange to his beak and feet with Tombow markers. The final step was to add the trees, branches and gulls. Finished size is 5.5 x 8.5 inches.

This scene is so amazing. I like it better than the airbrushed scene. Your cloud placement and the colors in between make them look 3D and moving! It is spectacular!
