Mo Mannings Penguin for Lois

All my friends know I am always looking for penguin images to make cards for my good friend, Lois.  She is an incredibly talented wedding florist but can't craft worth a darn.  Of course, hand me beautiful flowers, I will fuss with them for hours and it will still look like I just threw them together, lol.  So we balance each other out.  She does my Christmas swags and I make her penguin cards.  So when Mo Manning from Mo's Digital Pencil came out with this adorable Penguin with Gift image, I just had to have it.

I began by printing the image onto Curious Ice Gold paper, I love the extra shimmer for frosty images.
Copics used:
Penguin - C6, C0
Beak & Feet - YR16
Scarf- B63, BG32
Package - G00, R22, YR09
Bow - Y23

After I got him mostly done, I was looking at Google Images to see what color the area around his eye should be and I found out his feet should be gray.  So I dulled the orange down with C3 on top of it.  I used C1 and a blender pen to make the shadow below him.

To create the snowflake, I used 3 different punches and Curious Ice Gold paper.  The largest is the new 2 inch Martha Stewart snowflake punch, I added Diamond Dust Twinklets to each of the ends.  The middle layer is a McGill stacking snowflake punch, I airbrushed it with B66 and then added Diamond Dust as well.  The top layer is another Martha Stewart snowflake punch, airbrushed with BG34 and again Diamond Dusted.  The last step was to add the pearl center and some Martha Stewart branches.  I used pop dots between the layers for some extra depth.  Here is a pic of just the snowflake, click on it for a closer view to see all the sparkle.

This is a tent topper card made to fit a 5 x 7 inch envelope.
