Mountain Climber for Sandy

This is my May swap card for the Sutter Yahoo group. All images were stamped using Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers. The mountain climber is from Stamping Sensations but the rest of the stamps are from Sutter stamps. I created the mountain by using the edge of the Left Ledge Trail stamp, I just made sure the rocks were parallel to the paper edge. The scenery in the background is one stamp, Mountain River, I masked both the rocks and the climber before stamping this part. Then I added the top of a pine to the bottom corners for some height and the pine branches on the top right and left side to help push the scene back. The geese were added last. For coloring the rocks, I used a base color of E70 Ash Rose, then added E11 Bareley Beige and E71 Champagne for highlights and shadows. The grass in the foreground is G82 Spring Dim Green, the distant grass is G40 Dim Green. The darker grass highlights and trees are G24 Willow. I used G94 Grayish Olive on the pines, E44 Clay for the trunks as well as what looks like logs in the grassy areas. For the river, I used B32 Pale Blue, E00 Skin White for the river edges and E70 Ash Rose to shade the mountain in the distance. E000 Pale Fruit Pink, highlighted with E00 Skin White for the climber's skin, his pants are E31 Brick Beige, Y21 Buttercup Yellow for his shirt and B95 Light Grayish Colbalt for the harness and his cap. The last step was to airbrush the sky using R81 Rose Pink, B41 Powder Blue and B32 Pale Blue. There are more geese in the sky than I would normally add but I got my finger in the ink and needed to cover up a splobber, lol. This scene is mounted on an A2 card, 4.25 x 5.5 inches. Hope you enjoy this scene, I had fun making it for my good friend Sandy W.

Your card as Sandy W said is totally awesome. It's hard to believe its not a 5 X 7 or 8 X 10. Your color choices and your composition are so perfect. You are a true artist Sandy.
