CutCardStock.com challenge Sketch 2

Here is my second submission for the "Cut It Up" Sketch contest on CutCardstock.com's blog I started with Curious Metallic Blue Steel cardstock onto which I layered Curious Iridescent Cyber Gray that I had embossed with my Cuttlebug Snowflakes folder. Because I did not want to cover up all the shimmery snowflakes, I die cut a Nestabilities scalloped circle out of acetate. I embossed it with my Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirl folder, hoping to give the feel of a winter wind.

Here is a closeup where you can see the swirls in the acetate. Again using Curious Iridescent Cyber Gray, I stamped the Winter saying from Great Impressions and rounded the outer corners. I stamped my little snowman from Whipper Snapper Designs onto Curious Iridescent Ice Gold and colored him with Copics. I die cut both the snowman and the scalloped panel of Blue Steel using my Circle Nestabilities. The last steps were to add the ribbon (I love this ribbon and sadly can't find anymore of it) and the rhinestone in the upper corner. I think this is a great little card, it looks much better in real life, unfortunately the scan does not pick up all the shimmer from the paper and the swirls on the acetate.

I decided to try and take a picture of the card to see if you can see the acetate detailing any better. One thing you can see really well is the wonderful metallic sheen to the Blue Steel paper. Although I do think this gives you a better look a the swirl effect on the acetate.

Your card turned out great. I would never have thought to use the cuttlebug on acetate. Great idea, it really added dimension.
