Copic Dreaming at Castle Keep

I submitted this scene to RSM but they chose not to publish it, so I can share it with you. I was inspired to create this from a card by Sija Teijgeler I saw in the gallery at Stone House Stamps.

I began by stamping the woman from the Fantasy Plate 1 from Stone House stamps. I masked her with Eclipse tape. Then using my Nestabilities Oval die and a piece of Eclipse tape the same size as the scene, I cut an oval and had a rectangle with an oval cut out of the center to use as masks.

I placed the rectangle mask and stamped the castle from Sutter Stamps in the oval cutout, added the pond in front and the birds, both from Stampscapes. I colored the scene with my Copic markers (sorry this was months ago so I have no idea what colors I used) and then airbrushed the sky.

Next, removing the rectangle mask, I placed the oval mask over the scene (the woman is still masked) Using a background stamp from Stacy Stamps, I created the scratchy looking outer mat. Then I removed both masks and colored the woman with my Copics. The last step was to add the branch in the upper right corner, again colored with Copics. Finished size is 7.25 x 5.75 inches.
