Night and Day ......

Following a tutorial from Doubtfires Musings, I used my corner punch to create the black circle on this card. I then layered red card stock behind it and punched a circle in the middle. I next hand punched the hearts, layering black behind the red panel. Pretty cool, huh? The last step was to add the Martha Stewart lace down the sides. So I had this really cool layout with no idea what to put in the middle.

Then I remembered my Sun and Moon stamp from DogGoneStamps. Well, it fit perfectly in the center. This stamp reminds me of the movie LadyHawke, where the heroine spent her days as a hawk and the hero spent his nights as a wolf and they were cursed to be in love but never able to be together. It is a very good film, a two hankie, but with some action to keep the guys satisfied.

Anyway, I think this sun (the lady) and the moon (the man) are fated to only get a glimpse of each other at dusk and dawn. I colored them with my Copics, B21 for the moon and Y21 for the sun. Then I swirled my blender pen over the color to give it a kind of mottled look. Her lips are R29. So I was trying to think of a saying and the song "Night and Day" popped into my head. Perfect, so I computer generated the words, added some pearls and I was done. Finished size is 5 3/8" square.

Well, I just flipped on the TV and was channel surfing and the movie Night and Day with Cary Grant is playing. I guess it is fate!

Hi Sandy
I love the stories you tell about how you do and feel about the stamping, and it really must have been fate that they just showed that good old CG's movie.....
Kind regards, lucy

Hi Sandy.

What a pleasant surprise to see what I think of as a "humorous" stamp used in a romantic way. I like the card. I'll have to check out that tutorial.

Sandy.....how available is this Sun/Moon stamp? Do you still have it by chance? It would be perfect for a card I need to make for my brother. He calls his girlfriend "moonbeam" and she calls him "sunshine". I know....kinda makes you want to gag, but the perfect stamp!!! Love this card! xo
