My Creative Classroom Color Challenge

Over at My Creative Classroom in the Everyday Moodlings Free classroom, they are having a color challenge.  The challenge is to use these colors....

So I whipped up this very quick scene using Stampscapes stamps on glossy paper.  I applied the ink with a Colorbox Stylus.  If you want to learn this technique, check out my online classes at MCC.

Karen's Doodles Pumpkin Baby

Here is a new little cutie from Karen's Doodles called Pumpkin Baby.  Isn't she sweet?  I sized and printed her onto Cryogen paper with my inkjet printer.  Copics used:
Baby - E000, E00, R20
Eyes - B12
Hair - YR20, YR23
Pumpkin - YR65, YR68
Leaves - YG21, YG23, YG25
Stem - E33, E21
Shadow - W1
As I was assembling my card, I did not like how bright the Cryogen was compared to the background paper, so I took E51 and colored all around the image, making my white paper an off white.  Problem solved.  The DP is from Debbie Mumm, the die cut is a Nellie Snellen.  And the flowers I made with my new floral and leaf punches from Nellie Snellen, they cut and emboss, I love them.  Finished size is 6" square.

Anything Goes Fun Challenge at Make It Crafty

The fourth Wednesday of every month is a Fun Challenge over at the Make It Crafty blog. Our challenge this month is Anything Goes.  Because I love combining images so much, I have created another Halloween scene.

This one was a little tricky as the moon, bats and fence with pumpkins are all one fabulous image called Eerie Scene, but I wanted the Slimy House in front of the Moon but behind the fence?  Easy Peasy!  I used the Magic Wand tool in Photoshop Elements to make the Moon transparent.  Then I added Slimy House and simply erased the outline portion of the moon where the house overlapped it.  Now the moon is in the back and the fence is in the front.  I also added Whimsical Mushrooms on the right and left, sizing and flipping the images to fit.  I flipped the Eerie Scene, removed the moon entirely and then added just the fence and pumpkins on the right side of the scene.  The last step was to add Trick or Treat Witch and Wizard to the foreground.  Now that I am done with the scene, I think I could have made the Witch and Wizard a little taller.  I don't think the perspective is quite right but it is still cute!

I printed the image onto Cryogen paper with my inkjet printer, then colored it in with my Copics, a LOT of Copics.  I laid a piece of Eclipse tape down on the image, then traced the outline so I could cut a mask and then airbrush the sky.  I also airbrushed a bit of green around the grass edges.  The final touches were the branches around the image, rubber stamps from Stampscapes. Finished size is 6" square.

Trick or Treat!

I was blog hopping and ran into a card that was done using clip art from Lettering Delights Hallowscream Things.  I love this clip art and it is on sale for $1, can't beat that.  So I used the Haunted House, the tree and the fence to create a background for this scene, adding a gradient background before I printed it.

I added Bub Zombie on the right, More in the center, and Mummy on the left (he is this month's freebie) all from Just InkLined.  Copics used:
More - B0000, B92, R27, C7, E44
Bub - E70, C1, YR12, B91, E33, E21

Bats and Vampires and Ghosts, Oh My!

Over at Just InkLined Digital Stamps they are having a Halloween challenge (have I mentioned, I LOVE Halloween)  Well they came out with some fabulous new Halloween digis and I could not resist.  I managed to work 4 of them into this card. I had so much fun with my last Criss Cross card, I decided to make another.

I began by creating the card first using papers from my HUGE Halloween stash.  Then using Adobe Photoshop Elements, I combined Vlad, Trick or Treat, and Halloween Kitty, added a gradient background and then printed them onto Cryogen paper with my inkjet printer.  Aren't they fabulous images and so much fun to color with my Copic markers.  I added a little bat sticker, thought he fit in perfectly.

Last step was to create the sentiment for the front. Again using Adobe Photoshop Elements, I used a font called Blood of Dracula (how appropriate), added Batty and printed it onto Cryogen.  I airbrushed around the edges before removing it from my die.  Too cute, huh?  Finished size is 6" square.

Old Mill Ornament

I am working on a new Stampscapes Ornament class, last year's was so popular,  So here is the first card I came up with for the class.  Pretty cool, I want to thank Karen Wallace for the inspiration. And thanks to my monthly stamping ladies for letting me test run it on them.

You're in My Thoughts

Today was class with my monthly stamping ladies, and they asked me to make a sympathy card. I don't have any sympathy sayings but thought this card might do....

I started with a piece of glossy paper then using these great Shades dye inks from Sweet Stamps, I stippled Palm Grove and Forest on the bottom, Tidal Wave and Aquamarine on the top.  Then I stamped the trees from Stampin Up's Lovely as a Tree set.  The background is a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  The saying is from an old See-D stamp set.  I colored the ribbon to match with a Copic marker.  Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

I am excited to announce I have been asked to join the Make It Crafty Design Team.   We will be kicking off our new team with a technique challenge on September 8th.  We will have 2 challenges a month, 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month, first a technique and then a fun themed challenge.  You do not have to use Make It Crafty images, but of course we would love to see what you create using them.  And speaking of creating, I had great fun creating this card

Using Adobe Photoshop Elements, I started with this great digi image called Boot House, adding Hilly Lane digi image behind it.  You can purchase both of these from the Make It Crafty online store.   Last I added this cute digi image from The Greeting Farm called Harvest.  I sized and printed the image onto Cryogen paper with my inkjet printer.  Copics used:

Boot - E93, E97, E99, YG93, E33, B000, C2
Flowers - B12, G21

Corn - Y21, E33
I airbrushed B32 into the sky, then added some grass texture and leafy branch from Stampscapes to finish off the scene.  This was so much fun to color.  Finished size is 5.5" square.

Be sure to stop by the Make It Crafty blog for details on how you can win this great blog candy.  And stop by the blogs of my new team mates for more great examples of art from Make It Crafty.
