Cheery Lynn Designs Snowflakes

The challenge this week at Cheery Lynn Designs is Snowflakes.  I think I have that covered with my card.  I started with a 5.75" square blue card stock base.  I added my DP then die cut a Snowflake Mesh border also from blue card stock. 

Did you know that the snowflakes in the mesh border match the medium snowflakes that Cheery Lynn makes?  Using Snowflowers Set One and Set Two, I added matching white snowflakes to the border, rotating them so they are staggered. 

I used the medium die from my Horizon Square Boutique Stacker set to back this cute image from Sylvia Zet.  For the snowflake in the corner, I used Snowflake #5 as a base and then layered two Snowflowers as well as a small snowflake from the Snowflakes die.

Cheery Lynn Designs Frame It

This week at Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge blog we are to Frame It!  I started with this beautiful Scandinavian Hearts Frame which I was pleasantly surprised to see it fit perfectly in the next to the larges die in the Scalloped Square Stacker set.  I decided to cut the frame out of patterned paper, I think it gives it a very rich look.  I added little Viva Decor Pearl pen accents in the center of the flower cut outs.  I used my Hearts and Rose Leaves Embossing plate to add some texture to the pink panel behind the image.

 This adorable digi image is from Sylvia Zet Wee Stamps.  I really hate photographing pink/reds as they come out funny.  The heart in the kitties arms really does match the card stock; it just won't photo correctly.  I added a  Sentiment Frame #1 and the smaller of the words from the Love (Set of 2)

To finish the inside of the card, I added a border using my Lace Edger (the pattern matches the frame on the front).  I again used my Scalloped Square Stackers to create the scalloped edge below my Lace Edger die cut.   I added a Celtic Heart die cutting it twice; once out of patterned paper and again out of white card stock for personalizing the card.  The DP is from Bo Bunny.  Finished size is 6" square.

Cheery Lynn Designs Friends

This week the challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs is Friends/Friendship.  I began with a card base using my Scalloped Square Lg Stackers  and my matching Silver Square Stackers for the background DP.  I used the same die set for the square panel in the center.  For the image, I die cut a Scalloped Oval Small Stackers and the matching Silver Oval Small Stackers.  This great digi image is from Sylvia Zet, Wee Stamps.  I added a Celtic Chain border across the bottom.  I used a Sentiment 1 frame, adding letters from my Mini Font set.  The last step was my snowflake embellishments using Snowflakes, Snowflowers Set 1 and Set 2.  Finished size is 5.625 inches square.

Christmas Hamster

For my card today, I just had to use this new image called Christmas Hamster from Sylvia Zet.  I printed her onto Cryogen paper and then die cut around her with my Polynesian Sails Angel Wing.  I used a wonderful metallic red paper to cut my Polynesian Sails Oval frame, using spray adhesive to stick it down.  I colored the image with Copic markers, adding sparkly accents with Smooch ink and Viva Deco Pearl pen for the snowflakes.  I also added some gold leafing pen around the edges of the angel wing.  Across the bottom of my card, I added the lower part of a Tiffany Border. 

Because the frame is so large, I wanted a smaller poinsettia on this card.  So I created one using the two smallest petals on my Mega Fanciful Flourish; I cut 5 of each of them.  I love all the veining on the petals.  The flower measures about 1.75 inches wide.  Below the flower I added some pine from the new Wreath Strip die.  The DP is from Little Yellow Bicycle.  Finished size is 5 x 7 inches.

Hazel the adorable Witch

I created this card for the Fall themed challenge over at Cutcardstock.com.  I just love this digi image by Sylvia Zet called Hazel.  Using Photoshop Elements I sized the image and then printed it onto Cryogen Metallic paper with my laser printer.  I used my Copics to color the image.  I used my Cheery Lynn Designs Manon's Wedding Garland to create the lacy frame around the image.  The matching border is Cheery Lynn's Dancing Doily Lace die.  I also used part of Cheery Lynn's Spiderweb die for a corner adornment.  The paper is from the Pebbles Tricks and Treats 6x6 pad.  Finished size is 6" square. 

Batty for Cheery Lynn Designs

Sandy here with you today;Tamara is having some internet problems and hopefully will be able to join you on Wednesday.  So I made this adorable card with a new image from Sylvia Zet called Batty Boo.  Aren't they the cutest bats you ever saw!

I created the card base using my Scalloped French Flair Lg Stackers and the matching DP panels with my Silver French Flair dies.  The doily behind the image is my Nautical Wheeler.  I backed the image with a purple panel die cut with my Inverted Scalloped Circle Lg Stackers die; using the matching Silver Circle die as a template for the image.  The three bats from the Going Batty die were the perfect accents for my card front.

Using a frame from the Sentiment 1 collection, I die cut the words Happy Halloween from a piece of DP from DCWV.  I hand trimmed the black panel behind the frame; just lay the die flat side down and trace around it.  You will get a perfectly sized piece of card stock for a backing.  I took the center drop out from my Nautical Wheeler Doily and used that behind the adorable Jack-O-Lantern.  Finished size is 6" square.

Give Peace a Chance

How cute is this image?  It is called Give Peace a Chance by the incredibly talented artist Sylvia Zet for SCACD.  I just love her Peace sign necklace and bell bottom pants.  I remember those days!  I stamped her onto Cryogen paper and colored her with my Copic markers.

I thought the colors and patterns in Basic Grey's Pyrus paper pack suited the image perfectly.  I die cut lots of DP panels using my Scalloped Square Lg Stackers and the coordinating Silver Square Stackers.  I even realized I can cut rectangle panels by cutting twice, lining the first cut up in the die.  Too cool!  I added a Canadian Kaleidoscope doily, which I cut in two pieces and slid under the two square panels.  Then a Sunflower embellishment with leaves from Judy's Blooms and my card was complete.  Finished size is 6" square.

Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 24 - Birthday

The challenge this week at Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge blog is Birthdays.  I created my card base following the template in my post for a 6" square card.  I used this great paper from the First Edition Spring Fest 6x6 pad.  The adorable digi image is from Sylvia Zet and is called Spring Bringer.  I printed the image onto Cryogen paper and colored her with my Copic markers.   For the panel behind the image, I die cut a Swedish Spring Oval frame, then laid the die flat onto matching paper from the paper pack, traced it and hand cut an angel wing.  (I am certain Cheery Lynn will come out with one soon!)  Next came my Victorian Picket Fence to which I added Fanciful Flourish and Darling Daisies.

The side panels needed a little something so I die cut my Flower Chain Border, trimmed the link off the last flower and added it.  I used my Salmon Viva Decor Pearl pen for all the flower centers. 

Using the same dies as on the front, I also finished the inside of the card.  I die cut my Swedish Spring Oval frame once more out of coordinating paper, trimmed out just the center and layered it for adding my sentiment.  Be sure to visit the Challenge blog for more inspiration from my team members and please join us for a chance to win a $20 shopping spree at Cheery Lynn Designs.

Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 17 - Lots of Layers

The challenge this week at Cheery Lynn Designs blog is Lots of Layers.  I found this wonderful sketch at CPS - Card Sketches and thought it was perfect for this challenge.  Counting the card base there are 12 layers on this card, lol.  Think I met the challenge.  I had great fun making this as all the scalloped card stock panels were created using my Mini Pearl Square Reflections and Mini Pearl Rectangle Reflections dies.  You can make just about any size die cut you want with these.  The adorable image is from Wee Stamps.  I added a Cheery Blossom along with some leaves from the flourish that comes with the Victoria Garden Doily Frame.  The fabulous DP is from the 6x6 paper Spring Feast paper pad from First Edition.  Finished size is 6" square.  Be sure to visit the challenge blog for more inspiration.  And Cheery Lynn Designs is doing a DT call, check out the details here.

Here is an adorable card I created using Sylvia Zet's digi image called Easter Bunny.  How cute are they?  I used my new Cheery Lynn Designs Lace Square Heart to showcase the image.  I printed the image onto Cryogen paper.  Copics used:

Monthly Stamping Class

I got together with my stamping ladies yesterday and these are the cards that we made.............

For the first card, we used Cheery Lynn Designs Lattice 2 die, Fanciful Flourish and Miniature Rose.  The oval was created by stacking an Oval Nesting die on top of a Scalloped Oval Nesting die and running them through my die cut machine.  It gives you an oval fallout for a sentiment on the inside and the cool scalloped frame for the card front.  Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

Another Whimsy Stamps image.  This is called a Dutch Double card.  The top flap flips up, the bottom ones open like doors.

And the last card features Magnolia's Tilda with Hellebores along with Cheery Lynn Designs Canadian Kaleidoscope Doily, matching Angel Wing and  Heart Chain border.  This is a tent fold card and will fit in a 5 x 7 envelope.  A fun time was had by all, lol.

Well, we finally got some snow this week in Michigan, yeah!  So this week's challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs is perfect..............

Snowflakes

Cheery Lynn Designs has a wonderful assortment of snowflakes available.

For my card, I layered Snowflake 7 on top of Snowflake 4, using pop dots for lots of dimension.  I also used the gorgeous  Snowflake Flurries XL embossing plate for my background.  I embossed Core'dinations color-core paper and then sanded the raised embossing so the core color shows through.  The frames is the newly released Dutch Doily Rectangle Frame, the image is called Winter Fairy from Whimsy stamps.  I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo black ink, then colored her with Copics.  I added Sparkly Fluff to her coat, boots and earmuffs.  Finished size is 5 x 7 inches.
