Cheery Lynn Designs Center Step Card

Do you like to make center step cards but hate the measuring and cutting, especially to add the panels of DP to the card.  Well, boy, do I have a treat for you.  In July's release from Cheery Lynn Designs, there was a Center Step Card die.  It makes a 5 5/8" square center step card, but that is not all.  You get the 5 extra dies to cut the 4 panels of DP for the front of the card and the one for the inside of the card.  You must have the extended platforms for your die cut machine but it will work in all the machines, including the Cuttlebug. 

Starting with a piece of purple card stock 6 x 12, I cut the card base.  The die not only cuts the step portion, but it adds scores for ease of folding.  Using the 5 panel dies, I die cut this fabulous DP from the Doodlebug Haunted Manor 6 x 6 paper pad.  I added some bats using the new Going Batty border die; using the two extra bats as embellishments around the image.  I die cut the middle die from the new Horizon Oval Boutique Stacker set for a backing to this adorable image from Saturated Canary.  And I used the new Alison's Ribbons to create the ribbons on the vertical panels on each side.  I die cut them out of Cryogen metallic white paper and then colored the dotted ribbon to match the paper. 

You can see the DP panel for the inside of my card.  I love that you get these dies along with the card base.  It makes it so simple.  I added the new Spiderweb Mesh Border and a panel for signing the card backed with the smallest of the Horizon Oval Boutique Stacker dies.  As I said, this folds up to a 5 5/8 inch card.  You can add lots of embellishments and still have room to slide it into a 6" envelope.   Thanks for stopping by and I hope this inspires you to have fun with Cheery Lynn Designs dies.

Hugs and Kisses

Today for Cheery Lynn Designs I have created a Valentine card using the new Hugs and Kiss digi image from Saturated Canary.  I think she pairs up perfectly with my Cheery Lynn Designs Polynesian Sails Oval and matching Angel Wing.  I used the new Mesh Border to create my vertical border to which I added a Fanciful Flourish.  I used the new Daisy Strip to create my flowers.  Finished size is 6" square.

This adorable image from Saturated Canary was a freebie from the new Canary Blog.   I printed her onto Cryogen paper with my laser printer and then colored her with Copics.  I used my Oval Doily Stacker to cut out the image, adding a hand cut red background.  Behind this I added a Nautical Wheeler Doily which I trimmed in half so it sticks out both sides.  Across the top I added a Pennant and the word love, die cut with my School Days 3/4 inch font.  I added some pre-made roses and some greenery from my Flourish Leaf Strip.  Finished size is 6" square. 

Color My World

Copic Marker Europe is celebrating their first birthday and they provided a couple of digi images with the understanding that you would make something with one of them and enter their challenge.  So I created a card around this adorable image from Saturated Canary called Traveling Colors.  I printed her onto Cryogen metallic paper and colored her with my Copics.  I used Cheery Lynn Designs dies to create all the layers of the card.

Check out the lovely detailing on the Flourish Leaf pieces and see the white pieces sticking out under the rose?  That is the Lace Corner Deco D die.  I think it perfectly frames the rose that I made with the Medium and Miniature Rose dies.  I created the sentiment in Photoshop.  The DP is from Echo Park.  Finished size is 6.5" square.

Saturated Canary Celebration

The challenge this week at Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge blog is Celebration.  Still being in the Christmas card mood, I created this adorable card using Saturated Canary's digi image called Noel. I sized and printed the image onto Cryogen metallic paper using Photoshop Elements and my laser printer.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  Using my beautiful lace Cheery Lynn Designs Oval Doily Stacker I cut the image out adding a card stock panel behind it die cut with my Oval XL Stackers.  I used my Snowflake Edger to create the border piece, then stacked Laced Pine Snowflake, Snowflake #6 and Snowflake #7.  The last step was the sentiment from Lily of the Valley to which I added a card stock panel cut with my Scalloped Circle Little Stackers,   Finished size is 6.5" square.

Saturated Canary Nevaeh

Saturated Canary is doing a Guest DT call and I thought I would throw my hat in ring.  For my card I have used this cute digi called Nevaeh.  I printed her onto Cryogen metallic paper with my laser printer.  Copics used:

For my card base, I used my Cheery Lynn Designs Scalloped French Flair Stackers and the matching Silver French Flair dies to cut designer paper panels.  The gorgeous paper is from the SEI Couture collection.  To frame the image, I used my Polynesian Sails Oval die.  The flowers were created using Cherry Blossoms, Darling Daisies and Miniature Rose dies.  I added Mini Fanciful Flourish accents for the leaves and vines.  On the base I added Francesca border and then die cut a sentiment panel using my French Flair and Scalloped French Flair Little Stackers.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts.  Finished size is 6" square.

Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 15 - Pretty in Pink

The challenge this week at Cheery Lynn Designs blog is Pretty in Pink (ugh, you all know how much I love pink!)  I decided to make a tall tri fold card, I call it a Z fold (it is kind of a backwards Z)  Anyway, I constructed the card first using this great paper from Heidi Grace.  On the front I used Polynesian Sails Oval and matching Angel Wing, adding Anastasia Border along the bottom.

Isn't she a cutie?  She is called Hand Me Downs and is from Saturated Canary Digis. I printed her onto Cryogen card stock.  I tried to pay particular attention to shading and shadows.  Copics used:

For the center panel behind the image, I added Fanciful Flourish, Cheery Blossoms and Anastasia Border.  I added some coloring around the edges of the Cheery Blossoms with my RV04 Copic. 

I found a couple of good sayings about friends and computer generated them then die cut them out using my Silver Oval Stackers.  I used the matching Scalloped Oval Stackers to create the pink panel behind each oval.  Again I added part of the Fanciful Flourish and another Cheery Blossom along with two more Anastasia Border pieces.

Here is what the card looks like standing open, kind of a backwards Z.  I added some pearls to the inside panel and Viva Decor Pearl Pen accents on all the borders as well as the Polynesian Sails frame.
