Queen on her Own - RSM Spring issue

On page 52 of the new Spring 2009 issue of Rubber Stamp Madness magazine you will see a card made by me. The theme was Kings & Queens.

I stamped this fabulous image from Stone House stamps with Memento Tuxedo black ink onto Cryogen white paper.

Of course I used my Copics to color the scene, airbrushing the sky. The main panel was cut and embossed with a rectangle Nestabilitie die from Spellbinders. I embossed the purple panel with my Cuttlebug Argyle embossing folder. Added some Prima flowers and leaves, a metal embellishment and I was done.

What do you think she is dreaming about?

Fairie Cove

This is a scene I submitted to Rubber Stamp Madness Magazine and they published in the Sept/Oct 2008 issue.

The fabulous fairies are from Stone House Stamps, the Fantasy 1 plate of stamps. I stamped them first and then built the scene around them.

I used a mix of Stampscapes and Sutter stamps to build the scene. I used my Copics to color the scene. I airbrushed the sky and some of the water.

I urge everyone to submit their art to magazines, it is a thrill to see your name in print.

Sept/Oct Rubber Stamp Madness

I was quite surprised when I visited the Rubber Stamp Madness magazine website and found my scene being used as advertising for the current issue. I knew I was being published but am honored they felt it worthy of selling issues. They used it again on the Current Issue page. I have been working on some pieces for the Jan/Feb issue, Kings/Queens, etc is the theme so I don't have new art to share today. But I thought I might share my scenes that have been previously published.

The scene on the right was published in the centerfold of the March/April 2008 issue. The theme was architecture. I had submitted the scene for the scenic book but they decided they wanted it for this issue. It is stamped on glossy paper and colored with dye inks and a Colorbox stylus. I also did some coloring with Tombow markers. This scene was done prior to me owning Copics markers. All stamps are Stampcapes except the boats and dock which is an old PSX/Inkadinkado stamp that has been retired.

For the Nov/Dec 2006 issue, RSM decided to do a centerfold using photoscapes (stamping on sky photos) Of the 5 scenes I submitted they chose this one (I liked it the least, lol). I printed my sky onto glossy cardstock, heat set it and then stamped the scene using Marvy black ink. I heat set again and then added some color using Tombow markers. I took this sunset picture near my house, but I turned it upside down to stamp on. Here is the original photo so you can see how I used the clouds and sky for the best effect. All of the stamps in this scene are Stampscapes.

I did receive notice from Rubber Stamp Madness that they will be using 2 of my pieces for the upcoming Scenic book. I encourage everyone to submit art to magazines. It is incredibly fun to see your name in print and it helps to promote this wonderful craft we enjoy so much.
