I was quite surprised when I visited the Rubber Stamp Madness magazine
website and found my scene being used as advertising for the current issue. I knew I was being published but am honored they felt it worthy of selling issues. They used it again on the Current Issue page. I have been working on some pieces for the Jan/Feb issue, Kings/Queens, etc is the theme so I don't have new art to share today. But I thought I might share my scenes that have been previously published.

The scene on the right was published in the centerfold of the March/April 2008 issue. The theme was architecture. I had submitted the scene for the scenic book but they decided they wanted it for this issue. It is stamped on glossy paper and colored with dye inks and a Colorbox stylus. I also did some coloring with Tombow markers. This scene was done prior to me owning Copics markers. All stamps are Stampcapes except the boats and dock which is an old PSX/Inkadinkado stamp that has been retired.

For the Nov/Dec 2006 issue, RSM decided to do a centerfold using photoscapes (stamping on sky photos) Of the 5 scenes I submitted they chose this one (I liked it the least, lol). I printed my sky onto glossy cardstock, heat set it and then stamped the scene using Marvy black ink.

I heat set again and then added some color using Tombow markers. I took this sunset picture near my house, but I turned it upside down to stamp on. Here is the original photo so you can see how I used the clouds and sky for the best effect. All of the stamps in this scene are Stampscapes.
I did receive notice from Rubber Stamp Madness that they will be using 2 of my pieces for the upcoming Scenic book. I encourage everyone to submit art to magazines. It is incredibly fun to see your name in print and it helps to promote this wonderful craft we enjoy so much.
