Cheery Lynn Designs Lots of Layers Challenge

Today's challenge at Cheery Lynn  Designs is Lots of Layers.  I love lots of layers and nothing makes it easier than Cheery Lynn Designs Stackers.  I used my Scalloped Circle Stackers to cut my card base (blue).  Using the matching Silver Circle Stackers, I cut a circle (white) that fits perfectly inside my scalloped circle leaving just the scallops showing.  I added texture to this panel with my Circle Piercing Plate.  

Next came a circle cut with the largest die from the Vienna Waltz Circle Boutique Stacker Frame set (blue).  Again using my Silver Circle Stackers, I cut a circle (white) that fits perfectly adding texture with my Circle Stitcher Plate.

Next up is a circle cut with the middle die from the Vienna Waltz Circle Boutique Stacker Frame set (blue).  Are you seeing a trend, lol.  To this I added a circle (white) cut again with my Silver Circle Stackers and to this I added texture with my Piercing Plate.

And the last layer is the smallest die from Vienna Waltz Circle Boutique Stacker Frame set (blue).  I stamped a sentiment from Sweet Stamps.  Each double layer was popped up with dimensional foam.  My card was originally all white but I added the blue with a Copic marker as I assembled it.  Finished size is 5 5/8" round.

Trellis and Brick Wall

Check out this great brick wall I created for today's Globecraft Piccolo card.  Using the newly released Sweet Stamps Art Stencil Stone Path and White Embossing Paste  I created my background and then while the paste was still wet, I sprinkled Piccolo Brownstone Enamel and then let it dry for 2 hours.  Once it was dry, I heat embossed it and look at the fabulous bricks!  Be sure to click on the picture for a closer view of this wonderful enamel.

 

 I die cut my Cheery Lynn Designs Trellis; heat embossing it with Piccolo Aged White Enamel.  I added both the Right and Left Mini Fanciful Flourish from Cheery Lynn.  Then added a couple of Piccolo Dragonflies Accents, using Piccolo Girls Night Out Enamel for the smallest and Turquoise Lagoon Enamel for the larger.  I added a coat of Glastique Gloss Finishing Glaze to my dragonflies; it makes them a bit more flexible and easier to shape the wings.   Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

Piccolo and Sweet Stamps Halloween Tag

For my Globecraft Piccolo project today, I have created a fun Halloween gift tag.  I began with the newly released Sweet Stamps Art Stencil Going Batty and Black Embossing Paste.  This give the bats wonderful raised dimension.  I added some random Piccolo Purple Mist 3D Enamel Gel dots between the bats. 

I love using my Cheery Lynn Designs Poinsettia Strip for Halloween flowers.  I die cut them from 3 papers and then coated each petal with some Glastique.  This gave them a wonderful glossy shine and made them easier to mold.  I used Piccolo Shamrock Dreams Enamel on my Medium Flourish Accents and the Cheery Lynn Designs Happy Halloween.  Adding a spiderweb ribbon finished off the tag.  I hope this inspires you to get your crafty supplies out and create.

Piccolo Haunted House and Graveyard

Here is a fun dimensional card I made using Piccolo Haunted House Accents and Haunted Graveyard Accents.  These are such fun sets for those crafters who love Halloween as I do!  This card will fold flat and measures 4.25 x 5.5 inches.  I used three different embossing enamels on this project:

House and Fencing - Vintage Black

Tombstones - Aged White (added a touch of Black Soot Distress ink)

Grass - Mossy Glen

For the Gnarly Tree, I used a combination of Burnt Umber and Mars Black 3D Enamel Gels.  I also used the Mars Black to create the steps leading up the hill.

For this pic you can see all the parts that create the scene.  You just make long rectangles any size you need, adhere them to the back and bottom of the card stock and they will fold forward when you close the card.  You just have to make sure your items are not too tall when closed.

I added a bit of yellow card stock behind the House to simulate candlelight.  And for the great background, I used the newly released Art Stencil Going Batty from Sweet Stamps.  I used painter's tape to mask off the bats I did not need and then applied Black Soot Distress ink.  I added a bit of distressing around the edges as well.  The Happy Halloween is from Cheery Lynn Designs.  I hope you enjoy my card,  I had great fun creating it.

Piccolo Vintage Black Enamel

My Piccolo project for today features Vintage Black enamel.  I love the beautiful mix of black, silver and gold in this enamel.  It is such a rich color.  Please ignore the plum tones to the above picture, it was taken inside under lamplight and I am unable to adjust the color.  In real life this is warm gray/taupe color.  I used the gorgeous French Oval Piccolo as a backdrop, adding a Vintage Dress Form Piccolo.

This picture is more the true color.  I added an insert to my French Oval Frame on which I stamped Sweet Stamps French Writing with Black Soot Distress ink, then shaded the oval.  On my card base, I stamped a Flourish and again added ink around the edges.   The lovely lady, Sasha, is a new release Glam Girl from Sweet Stamps.   I thought she was perfect for this card.  Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches. 

Piccolo Dragonfly Thank You

My Globecraft Piccolo card today showcases the new Piccolo Dragonfly Accents as well as one of the new Fancy Labels.   I heat embossed my large Dragonfly's wings with Turquoise Lagoon enamel then added a light layer of Mermaid Tears enamel for some opalescence.  For the body, I used Deep Blue Sky enamel then added a good layer of Instant UV Resin for a glass-like finish.   For the smaller Dragonfly, I heat embossed just with Mermaid Tears.  I used Aged White enamel on the ATC Bubble Background. 

For my label, I began with Deep Blue Sky enamel and then gave it a coat of Mermaid Tears.  It is a wonderful shimmery dusky blue.  These enamels combine so beautifully.  The last step was the Thank You from Sweet Stamps.  Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

Piccolo Fun in the Sun

One of the new releases from Globecraft Piccolo this month is the At the Beach Accents.  You get a lot of pieces in this set and can create lots of fun in the summer projects.  I used the palm tree island as the main focus on my card.  Using a paint brush, I painted Enamel Powder Adhesive Fluid on just the island portion and heat embossed it using Brownstone Enamel.  Love the flecks of white and dark brown in this powder; I thought it made a good beach.  Painting just the palm fronds, I heat embossed them with Mossy Glen Enamel.  For the tree trunks, I added Burnt Umber 3D Enamel Gel.

To create my little scene, I used my Sweet Stamps Tropical Getaway clear stamp set.  First I created a horizon line with a mask and then  using my Copic makers, B00 and B01, I added the water.  Next I stamped the sun in the sky and colored with my Copic Y15.  I glued my island down on the card stock and then stamped the fronds in the foreground, coloring them with Copic G24.  

I stamped a few birds in the sky and then using Cheery Lynn Designs Tags 2, I created the little Fun in the Sun tag.  My last step was to add a drop of Turquoise 3D Gel Enamel to the tag.  Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches. 

Globecraft Piccolo at Heirloom Pro Show, Novi, Mi

Globecraft Mini Bubble Frame Kit

This is one of the make and takes from the Globecraft Piccolo booth at May's Mega Meet Convention in Novi, Michigan.  I thought I would take you through the steps to create it.  We had quite a line of crafters waiting to make one of these.

You begin with the Globecraft Mini Bubble Frame Kit with Flowers.  You get a back piece, a frame, a mini clear globe and a flower piece.  Don't throw the outer piece from the flower away, it can be used as a frame in other projects if you cover it with card stock. 

I began by stamping Sweet Stamps French Script with Shades French Roast dye ink onto the back piece.  Then using a piece of cut and dry foam, sponge French Roast around the edges of the oval bringing the ink in towards the center.  You can lay the globe on top of the backing to test if you have moved your ink in far enough.  Apply Piccolo Enamel Powder Adhesive to the frame and heat emboss with Piccolo Copper Kettle Embossing Enamel.  Set this aside to cool.  

Now take your flowers and with a paint brush, apply Enamel Powder Adhesive to only the stems and leaves of the flowers.  Once the you have the adhesive applied, heat emboss with Piccolo Mossy Glen Embossing Enamel.  Paint the flower petals with your choice of Piccolo 3D Enamel Gels, I have used Daffodil Pearl for the petals and Orange for the centers.  You could also add a gem for the flower center.  The last piece is the medium butterfly from the Piccolo Butterfly Accents, which I heat embossed with Piccolo Vintage Copper. Love the green patina accents in the enamel.  Then simply assemble your globe; I used Ultimate Glue to adhere all the pieces.  It holds well and sets up quickly.  If you just set the frame on the back piece, it will give you and idea of where to place your flower and your butterfly.  Then remove the frame and glue down the globe.  Quickly set the frame on top and you can move the globe slightly if needed to center it.  Then glue your frame on top of the globe and you are finished.  These are a lot of fun to make.

Happy Birthday with Piccolo Accents

For today's card for Globecraft Piccolo, I have used the newly released Piccolo Cock a Doodle Doo Accent.  I applied Enamel Powder Adhesive only to the fence and heat embossed it with Aged White Enamel.  Love the weathered look of this enamel.  For my rooster, I applied 3D Enamel Gels Deep Red, Burnt Umber, Orange and Ultramarine, then used a straight pin to drag some of the gel out to make it look like feathers.  I added a large Cheery Lynn Designs Sunflower and some Mini Fanciful Flourish accents.  The last step was my Happy Birthday sentiment.  Finished size is 5.75" square. 

Vintage Tag

For my Globecraft Piccolo project today, I have created a vintage tag.  I began with a manila tag to which I added some blue paint.  Then using Versafine Vintage Sepia ink, I stamped Sweet Stamps Italian Writing so it covered the tag.  I stamped Parisienne Collage ATC again with Vintage Sepia onto Cryogen white card stock. 

I heat embossed both the frame and two of the corners from the new Piccolo Vintage Corner Flourishes with  Victorian Bronze enamel.  The frame is the perfect size for an ATC.  Be sure to click on the picture for a closer look at this luscious embossing enamel.

Piccolo's Vintage Copper Love

I have created a card today with Piccolo's French Oval Frame, Vintage Corner Flourishes and Flourish Accents.   I heat embossed all of the chipboard pieces with Vintage Copper Enamel Powder.  After applying the Enamel Powder Adhesive Fluid to the pieces, I used a spoon to add the Vintage Copper.  I wanted to have more of the green base rather than the copper color.  Be sure to click on the pic and view the larger image to see the real beauty of this embossing powder.

I stamped Sweet Stamps Love Birds Collage with black ink, then airbrushed some Copic E71 around the image.  Using a pencil, I traced the inside of the French Oval Frame around my image, and then hand trimmed it out.  My flowers were created with Cheery Lynn Designs Large, Medium and Miniature Rose dies. The DP is from the Basic Grey Cappella 6x6 pad.  Finished size is 5.75 inches square.

Thinking of You with Piccolo's

For my Globecraft Piccolo card today, I have used the new Stacey's Stacking Flowers set.  To color my flowers I used:

I just love that you can still see the detailing on the flowers after they have been colored or embossed.  And just take a look at how many flowers you get in the set.....

I used my Cheery Lynn Designs Lattice 2 die for the background.  I die cut it from card stock and then embossed it with Aged White Embossing Enamel. I just love the flecks of gold in this powder.  Be sure to look closer at the picture for the beauty of the enamels.

Next I die cut the middle size die from my Cheery Lynn Sentiment Tag 2 set out of card stock and colored it with Rose 3D Stamp Paint.  I stamped Thinking of You and then used the smallest die to cut it out.  I added a few gems to my flowers and I was all done.  Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches. 

Piccolo Butterfly and Flowers ATC

For my Globecraft Piccolo project today, I have an ATC I created from the Piccolo Butterfly Flurry Flourishes set.  For the background, I cut a piece of card stock the same size as the frame adding Light Blue 3D Stamp Paint with a dauber which gave it some great texture.  Here you can see the parts of this chipboard set.

I embossed the frame with Siam Silver Enamel and the ATC Bubble Background with Temple Stone Enamel. 

I used the newly released 3D Enamel Gels - Daffodil Pearl for the butterfly and Rose Pearl along with Orange for the flowers adding Mars Black for the body of the butterfly.  The stem was colored with Avocado 3D Gel.  I gave everything a coat of Gloss Glastique Finishing Glaze before gluing it all together.  This helps to protect the finishes and keep them shiny.  And I still have three butterflies and two flowers left in the set for future project. F100 French Oval Frame

I started my card by embossing the French Oval Frame and the Vintage Corner Flourishes with Vintage Gold Enamel.  I love the rich old world look of this enamel.  Next came the 3 and 4 leaf clovers from the St. Patty's Accents, which I embossed with Mossy Glen Enamel.  

I stamped Leprechaun onto Cryogen Metallic cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored him with my Copic markers.  I traced the inside of the frame and hand cut a backer, also from Cryogen.  Using Shades Forest ink, I stamped Irish Flourish around the edges of the oval.  The last step was to add some dots on the corners with Titanium White 3D Gel Enamel.  Finished size is 5.75 inches square.

More Snowflakes and Instant UV Resin

This weekend I was up at the open house hosted by the Globecraft & Piccolo parent company, Sweet Stamps.  This is one of the make and takes we created.  A beautiful winter card showcasing Piccolo Siam Silver embossing powder and Snowflakes.  We used Blue Sky 3D Enamel Gel for the accents on the snowflakes.  For the sparkly edge around the white panel, we applied a thin bead of Glastique and then some Pure Sparkle Silver Glitter.  There are 4 sizes of glitter in this mix which gives it fabulous shine.

I also got a chance to play with Piccolo Instant UV Resin.  I started with a thin rectangle acrylic piece (coming to the store soon).  I stamped snowflakes with white Staz-On then coated the piece with UV Resin.  Three minutes under the UV light and I was ready for layer two.  I added two Holly Clusters that I colored with Smooch ink, coating with another layer of UV Resin.  Three minutes later, I stamped more white snowflakes and added the final layer of UV Resin.  I added a layer of Light Blue 3D stamp paint to the back of the acrylic (love the glittery shine), then sealed it with a layer of Glastique.  Each layer can be seen as you look into the piece, it has so much depth.  I am going to use it as a zipper pull!

More fun with Sweet Cuts dies and the Winner is.......

Well, I am still playing with the new Sweet Cuts dies from Sweet Stamps.  This time I am using the new Daisy Center Medallion and the Winter Village Scene.  I added Super Sticky Tape behind the die cuts and then added Sparkly Sweet Transparent Glitter.  I used my dye ink markers and dabbed on some color.  I talked to Stacey and she told me you are better off using the Micro Fine Glitter as it won't tear up your marker tips.  But I only dabbed the color on so I don't think I did them any harm.

Sweet Stamps new die release

Sweet Stamps has some new Sweet Cut Dies and I offered to make some samples for Stacey for her booth.  Now most of you that know me, I don't do cutsie.  But I gave it a try.  First the A2 card on the right; using the new Cute Owl, I paper pieced his body and his beak.  I added a fun Witch's Hat which I also paper pieced.  The Spider Web Mesh border and Happy Halloween are from Cheery Lynn Designs.

For the tent card, I created a turkey by adding the new Lace Circle die behind him.  Don't they look just like feathers?  I added vellum behind the die and then colored the vellum with my Faber-Castell Pitt Markers.  I paper pieced his body adding some texture with my Cheery Lynn Designs Piercing Plate.  The last step was some fun googly eyes.

Sweet Stamps Just Thinking of You

Here is a cute card I made using two of the new SweetCuts Dies from Sweet Stamps.  I began by cutting out the Flower Oval die from black card stock.  Next I cut a matching back using my Cheery Lynn Designs Oval Little Stackers from Cryogen Metallic paper.  Using spray adhesive, I glued the die down to the backing.  I colored in the die with Copic markers, then added Glossy Accents to the flower petals and glitter glue to the centers of the flowers.  Next came the lovely Flutterby #2 SweetCuts die; same technique as the flower.  The Flutterby is a two piece die; the butterfly and a solid backing die.

I used black card stock for the card base and First Edition's Spring Drop 6x6 paper pad for the DP.  I die cut two tags from the Cheery Lynn Designs Tags 2 die set and then stamped Sweet Stamps Just Thinking of You with Memento ink.  Finished size is 4.25 x 5.5 inches. 

Digi Bells GDT Call

The Digi Bells team is doing a Guest Designer team call and a sketch challenge so I thought I would give it a try.  I have used this adorable stamp from Sugar Nellie called Windswept by Elisabeth Bell.  I stamped the image onto Cryogen metallic card stock and colored her with my Copic markers.  Following the sketch, I created the card base with papers from DCWV.  I used my Cheery Lynn Designs dies for the ovals, the sentiment tags and the flower embellishments.  The saying is from Sweet Stamps.  Finished size is 6" square.
