Cheery Lynn Designs Keep it Krafty

The Cheery Lynn Designs challenge this week is to Keep it Krafty.  I began with my Center Step Card die and some great paper from the Paper Loft.  I used Vintage Photo Distress ink for the roof of the birdhouse and the post.  The sunflowers were colored with Gold 3D Stamp Paint; everything else was colored with my Copic Markers.  Finished size is 5 5/8" square.

Make it Manly with Cheery Lynn Designs

The Cheery Lynn Designs challenge this week is Make It Manly.  Guy cards can be a challenge but this was a pretty quick card that I think would work great for a guy.  Using my Royal Coved Rectangle Mega Reflections dies, I created the overlay on the card base and the center panel of my tent card.  These dies are so versatile, you can create almost any size you need.  I hand trimmed the card base and the patterned paper pieces using the dies as templates.

Rather than using flowers, I have added a mix of leaves, pines and an acorn to make this manly embellishment.  I used some Distress ink to age the paper a bit.  Finished size is 5.5 inches square.  The paper is from the Paper Loft; the sentiment is from Hero Arts.

The Paper Loft Happiness is...

As guest designer for The Paper Loft for the month of April, I created this fun card using paper and sentiment blocks from the In the Zone collection.  My card is 5 x 7 inches and I created all the panels using paper from this collection.  The sentiments are from the Happy and Our House accessory sheets.

The image is from Karen's Doodles; Fisher Dad, I sized it and then printed it onto Cryogen metallic paper with my laser printed.  Copics used:
Faces – E000, E00, E11
Eyes – B02
Hair – E21, E23, E25
Dad – E41, E42, E43, BG93, BG96

Life is like riding a bicycle

Sandy here with you today.  I apologize for my late posting, Michigan weather is at it again.  We had a pretty major lightning and thunderstorm last night and it fried my network port on my desktop computer so I was unable to connect to the internet.  But enough about that, for my card today, I have a cute easel card using an adorable image from Sarah Kay.

I created my card base with my Scalloped Square Lg Stackers adding background papers with the coordinating Silver Square Stackers.  I added a Pinwheel Doily w/Angel Wing and then used my Scalloped Oval Lg Stackers and coordinating Silver Oval Stackers for the stamped image.  I added a couple of Zig Zag Ric Rac border pieces on the left and across the top.

For the base of the card, I added Victorian Picket Fence, Grass border and Little Pink Bicycle.  These great papers are from the Paper Loft Everyday Life collection and so is the sentiment in blue on the upper panel.  The last step was to add the Sending Smiles sentiment from Hero Arts stamped and layered with Tags 2.  Finished size is 6" square.

The Paper Loft Circle of Friends

Here is another clean and simple card I have created using my Cheery Lynn Designs French Flair Lg Stackers and the coordinating Silver French Flair Stacker dies.   I am using The Paper Loft Gentler Times collection; it has such a warm vintage look that I love.  The sentiment comes from one of the Gentler Times accessory sheets; I fussy cut it out to make it fit the french flair better.  The only additional die I used was my Ribbon Eyelet with Piercing border die.  Finished size is 5 5/8" square.

Paper Loft Guest Designer

I am excited to be the guest designer for The Paper Loft for the month of April.  I love mixing and matching designer paper and this paper from the Huckleberry Pond collection is wonderful for a guy card.  And it took me less than 30 minutes to make this card!  My card base is 6" square.  I simply cut some panels from the DP, mounted them onto my brown card stock and arranged them on the base.  In addition to designer paper, you can purchase Accessory Sheets for each of the paper collections.  For this card, I used an accessory sheet from the Scattered Pine Mountain collection called Deer.

I simply trimmed out the buck image, mounted it onto card stock and added it to my card.  The last step was to add 6 brads as embellishments.  An easy but very striking card for a man.  And we all know how challenging those can be.  Be sure to visit The Paper Loft blog for other great inspiration and to enter the challenge to be guest designer for the month of June.

Love Conquers All

A few weeks ago I entered a challenge for a Guest Design spot with The Paper Loft.  And I am honored to have been chosen.  I got to pick out an assortment of papers and accessory sheets and I will be designing for them in April.  I received my goodies and even though April is not here yet, I had to play with them.  I had already colored this adorable image called Noah and his bunny Bandit from Sassy Cheryl's and was tickled to see it matched some of the paper I had received.  So I whipped up this 5x7 card using DP from the Easy Breezy paper collection and a sentiment from the Everyday Life 'Happy' Accessory Sheet.  The doily is from Cheery Lynn, I split it horizontally so it would extend the length of the card.

This image reminds me of the stuffed bear I had as a child.  It had been my mother's and was all threadbare, had a few holes and smelled musty.  And it was a big as I was.  But we were best friends and I told him all my secrets.  I still have it today although it is pretty pathetic but I can remember the happiness he gave me.  Thanks for stopping by; I truly appreciate your support and comments.

Friends Always

The Paper Loft is looking for a guest designer for April and I thought I might give it a try.  I recently purchased this great paper from the Shades of Gray collection, I really like the monochromatic look.  I followed the sketch from The Paper Loft post and used gray card stock and the designer paper.

I paired up the paper with my Cheery Lynn Designs dies; Nautical Wheeler Doily, Daisy Strip and Polynesian Sails Mini doily and rubber stamps from Hero Arts.  Finished size is 6" square.
